An early participant in the “Leave Our Kids Alone” (LOKA) movement, which began at the anti-LGBTQ+ protest outside Saticoy Elementary, Manuk Grigoryan has become a prominent figure in anti-LGBTQ demonstrations throughout Southern California. These demonstrations usually occur at school board meetings where diversity, equity, and inclusion policies and LGBTQ+ topics are on the agenda or at drag queen story hour events.

Grigoryan is known for his late-night rants on Instagram live videos using slurs, drumming up vitriol, and discussing plans of action against the community with various guests, sometimes until two or three in the morning.

Here is an example of one such video in which Grigoryan and three other participants are laughing after one of them remarks “these transgender motherfuckers need to die”

The event at Saticoy Elementary marked the beginning of the LOKA movement Grigoriyan leads, and at the event there was a great deal of hateful words and anti-LBGTQ slurs being thrown at the LGBTQ supporters by the LOKA crowd. This hateful theme permeates LOKA rhetoric still, and although Grigoriyan and his cohorts repeatedly assert they are not against the queer community, the manner in which he mocks the community makes it apparent that he regards them with disdain and disgust. Below are short clips taken from only one such video in which Grigoriyan expresses in great detail his personal views on the subject.
