Stand Up, Speak Out: Join the Movement for Change

In times of political and social turmoil, ordinary citizens must take extraordinary action. At SCEW, we aim to highlight and amplify trusted demonstrations, ensuring everyone in SoCal knows how to get involved.

Tuesday,  February 11th, a passionate group of activists gathered in Hawthorn, Ca to protest against Elon Musk at his company SpaceX,  making their voices heard in a powerful demonstration for equality and justice. Their message is clear: change doesn’t happen in silence. It takes action, unity, and a collective effort to push back against injustice and create a better future for all.

It was a fun little coincidence just one day earlier, as Americans watched Elon Musk tackle department funding and sneak programmers into federal agencies, the federal government handed SpaceX a sweet $38.8 million. Its obvious that his sudden urgency to gut budgets wasn’t really just an act of DOGE austerity, and this blatant corruption demands action.

Their demonstration is more than just a moment—it’s part of a growing movement fueled by people who care deeply about their community, their rights, and the future of our society. These activists come from all walks of life, bound by a common purpose: to demand accountability in Washington, DC, and beyond. Their message is one of hope and action, encouraging everyone to step forward and take part in shaping the world we want to see.

Here is their message in their own words:

“We are citizens, voters, parents, opposed to the infiltration and takeover of our shared public institutions by an unelected billionaire driven by bigotry, greed, and stunning ignorance.

We stand in solidarity with our trans and immigrant siblings, and recognize that when any of us are threatened, all of us are.

We recognize the coup in motion by individuals linked to neo-Nazi groups, apartheid apologists, accelerationists, and those seeking anti-democratic autocracy.

We demand immediate intervention by elected officials:

Senate members must:

  • Place a blanket hold on ALL nominees.
  • Demand quorum calls on all official business.
  • Block unanimous consent.
  • Investigate Elon Musk and all individuals linked to unauthorized access to federal records, data, or funds.
  • Revoke all government contracts linked to Elon Musk.

House representatives must:

  • Reject and oppose ALL Republican initiatives.
  • Investigate Elon Musk and all individuals linked to unauthorized access to federal records, data, or funds.

Staffers and employees must:

  • Refuse to comply.
  • Intervene and slow down all attempts to access data or systems.
  • Record and publicize all individuals attempting to access government agencies, departments, or their data or records.

Citizens must:

  • Contact elected officials with the above demands.
  • Join in-person actions.
  • Boycott Tesla and X.

Our civil liberties, private data, federal funds, and the institutions that define the nation are in grave danger.

Immediate action is necessary.

There can be no business as usual when a network of billionaires threatens oligarchy and oppression.”

"The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands […] may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.”

Stay tuned for updates on this demonstration, and if you weren’t able to attend, don’t worry—this is just the beginning. There will be more opportunities to get involved, and they want you to be a part of it. We will continue to feature more demonstrations like these, whether it’s marching alongside, spreading awareness, or using your voice to advocate for change, every action counts.

Join them in the next demonstration and make your voice heard! Stay connected with us on Bluesky @socalextremismwatch.com, or DM us for more information and ways to participate.
